The ingredients needed to make Khaman Dhokla:
  1. Make ready 1 cup besan / gram flour
  2. Make ready 1/4 tsp haldi powder / turmeric
  3. Get 1 tbsp sugar
  4. Get 1 pinch hing / asafoetida
  5. Get as per taste Salt
  6. Take 1/4 tsp or 2 no lemon juice citric acid
  7. Take 1 tsp ginger chilli paste
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
  9. Make ready 1/2 cup or a 3/4 cup approx water
  10. Take 1 tsp fruit salt/ eno
  11. Prepare For tadka :-
  12. Make ready 1 tbsp oil
  13. Prepare 1 tsp mustard seeds
  14. Make ready 1 tsp sesame seeds
  15. Get 1/4 tsp hing / asafoetida
  16. Prepare 2 green chillies slit
  17. Get 8-10 curry leaves
  18. Make ready as needed For garnishing :- coriander leaves and grated coconut
  19. Get as needed For serving :- green chutney

Instant Khaman Dhokla Recipe, a famous and healthy snack from Gujarat. Khaman (Besan) dhokla, is a tasty Gujarati snack. This salty snack has a texture similar to cake. This will be used to steam the dhokla.

Instructions to make Khaman Dhokla:
  1. In a big bowl combine besan, salt, haldi, hing, sugar, citric acid, ginger chilli paste and oil.
  2. Mix all the ingredients well. Now add water little by little and mix well to make smooth batter. Leave the batter for 2-4 minutes.
  3. Just before steaming add the fruit salt and tsp water on top of fruit salt and mix lightly for a minute.
  4. Pour the mixture immediately to a greased thali and spread evenly by rotating the thali clockwise
  5. Steam in a steamer for 10-12 minutes or till the khaman are cooked. Keep aside and unmold.
  6. For tadka:- heat oil in a small non stick tadka pan add mustard seeds when the seeds crackle add the seasame seeds, hing,curry leaves and green chillies and saute for 30 seconds.
  7. Por this tadka over khaman pieces. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve with green chutney and as a breakfast or a side dish.
