The ingredients needed to make Khaman Dhokla:
  1. Prepare 1 cup Geram Flour/ Besan
  2. Prepare 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  3. Prepare 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
  4. Make ready Salt as per taste
  5. Take 4 tsp Sugar
  6. Make ready 1.5 tsp Crushed Citric Acid
  7. Prepare 1/3 tsp Baking Soda
  8. Make ready 3 cup water
  9. Take 2 slit Green Chilli
  10. Get 10-12 Curry leaves
  11. Take 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  12. Get 3 tsp Sugar
  13. Prepare 1 tsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  14. Take 2 tsp Oil

Instant Khaman Dhokla Recipe, a famous and healthy snack from Gujarat. Khaman (Besan) dhokla, is a tasty Gujarati snack. This salty snack has a texture similar to cake. This will be used to steam the dhokla.

Instructions to make Khaman Dhokla:
  1. In a bowl add crushed citric acid, sugar and water. Mix till sugar and citric acid dissolve in water.
  2. In another bowl take besan and add the above water mixture. Mix well and make sure no lumps are formed
  3. To the mixture add, turmeric powder salt and ginger paste. Mix well and add 1/2 cup of water to make it in pouring consistency. Keep the mixture to set for 15 minutes. In the meanwhile preheat the kadhai for steaming.
  4. After 15 minutes add baking soda.. Mix for 10-20 seconds and pour in greased tin.
  5. Place the tin in kadhai on medium high flame for 20 minutes.
  6. In meantime, prepare the tadka for khaman. Heat a pan and add 2tsp oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and slit chilli.
  7. Add 1 cup of water and 3 tsp Sugar. Mix till sugar dissolve. Let the tadka cool down
  8. After 20 minutes, insert a knife or toothpick if it's cooked knife should come clean. Otherwise cover and cook for another 5 minutes. Let khaman cool for 5-10 minutes.
  9. Once khaman cools down, with the help of knife separate the sides of khaman and then transfer it to another plate.
  10. Spread the tempering over khaman. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Cut the khaman into square shape pieces. Khaman is ready to serve with Green Chutney.. ENJOY!!!
