  1. Make ready 150 grm Gram flour
  2. Get 1/3 tsp Tumerice powder
  3. Make ready 1.5 tsp Sugar

  7. Prepare 1/2 glass Water (lukewarm)

Instant Khaman Dhokla Recipe, a famous and healthy snack from Gujarat. Khaman (Besan) dhokla, is a tasty Gujarati snack. This salty snack has a texture similar to cake. This will be used to steam the dhokla.

Instructions to make Khaman dhokla:
  1. Strain the gram flour in a bowl
  2. Add sugar mix it. Add water & mix it.
  3. Add little water again & mix it. Add lemon juice mix it. Cover it & leave it for 15 minutes.
  4. Add 2 glasses of water in a deep pan put a stand in a water turn on the flame, cover the pan & let the water come to boil.
  5. Meanwhile,grease a deep plate,bowl with oil keep it aside after 15 minutes,stir the batter add turmeric powder add salt mix it well
  6. Add 1tsp of oil &mix it again add eno add 1tbsp of water on eno mis it for10 -12 seconds.
  7. Immediately, pour the better in to the greased plate.
  8. Tap the tin to level it properly.open the lid & place the batter tin inside the pan
  9. Cover the pan & steam it for 20 minutes on medium flame. Do not open the lid in between
  10. After 20 minutes, open the lid & check the dhokla with knife.
  11. Turn off the flame. Let it cool down a little more.
  12. Tadka preparations—-
  13. Turn on the flame heat a tadka pan add oil & let it heat properly add asofoetida add mustard seeds & fry it for few seconds
  14. Add sugar add green chilli add little sugar and salt mix it
  15. Add water, boil it.
  16. Tadka is ready,turn on the flame
  17. Take out the dhokla from tin cut it in to pieces pour the tadka on top.
  18. Dhokla is ready.
  19. Take it out in a sarving plate.

When the water boils, turn down the heat to medium. Khaman Dhokla is a soft and spongy Gujarati snack. It has a slightly sweet and tangy taste. The porous and fluffy nature of the snack is on account of addition of small amount of baking soda.
