The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
  1. Get 1 bowl arhar dal
  2. Take 2 tablespoon salt
  3. Make ready 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  4. Prepare to taste red chilli powder
  5. Get 2 tsp sambhar masala
  6. Get 1-3 tablespoon oil
  7. Get 1 tablespoon rai/mustard seeds
  8. Take 8-10 curry leaves
  9. Prepare 1 sliced onion
  10. Get 1 cup mix vegetables chopped
  11. Prepare 4 tablespoon sambhar masala
  12. Get 2-3 tablespoon tamarind pulp

Sambar is a dish in South Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil cuisines, made of toor dal and veggies, sambar masala. You know nothing would disappoint you more to see a plate of puffy hot idlis or piping hot dosa without its must-have accompaniment-sambhar.

Instructions to make Sambhar:
  1. Take 1 bowl ahrar dal,1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 2 tablespoon salt and cook it till 5-6 wistle.
  2. Take 1-2 tablespoon of oil add rai seed, 1 tablespoon mustard seeds,2dry chilli, 8-10 curry leaves, one sliced onion, 2-3 finely chopped tomato, 1/2 tablespoon degi mirch, 4tablespoon sambhar masala, salt(per taste) and mix really well. Now add chopped beans, bringle, bottle gourd and carrot (you may add and vegetable you want) and cook for 5 mins in low flame. Now add 2 cup water and let it cook for 5-7 mins on low flame till the time the vegetables are half cooked.
  3. Now to this add 2-3 tablespoons turmerind pulp and cook for 2-3 mins and now add the cooked arhar dal and let it boil for 5 mins.
