The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
  1. Prepare 1 Onion chopped
  2. Get to taste Salt
  3. Prepare as per taste Red chilli powder
  4. Make ready 2 tbsp sambhar masala
  5. Make ready 1 tsp Jeera
  6. Get Few curry leaves
  7. Take 1 cup Boiled dal
  8. Take 2 tbsp Tamarind water
  9. Get as required Coriander leaves finely chopped
  10. Take 1 tbsp Garam masala
  11. Prepare 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  12. Take 1-2 Boiled potatoes

Sambar is a dish in South Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil cuisines, made of toor dal and veggies, sambar masala. Steps to make Sambhar:
  1. Firstly assemble all ingredients together.
  2. In a pan firstly add oil when oil gets hot add jeera, curry leaves, garlic paste next add onions and cook for 10 min till onion changes colour then add dal and all spices mix well lastly add potatoes, tamarind water and coriander leaves
  3. Add 2 cups of water in sambhar and on slow flame cook till it boils
  4. Serve it by Garnishing with desiccated coconut
  5. Note:- I used tomato at the time of boiling dal so I skipped it. You can use it in sambhar
