The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
  1. Take 1 cup tuvar daal
  2. Take 1 pinch turmeric powder
  3. Make ready to taste Salt
  4. Take 1 tomato finely chopped
  5. Get 2 tsp peanuts
  6. Prepare 3 tsp Coriander leaves
  7. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  8. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. Make ready 2 dry red chillies
  10. Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
  11. Make ready 1 tsp mustard seeds
  12. Get 8-10 curry leaves

Sambar is a dish in South Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil cuisines, made of toor dal and veggies, sambar masala. You know nothing would disappoint you more to see a plate of puffy hot idlis or piping hot dosa without its must-have accompaniment-sambhar.

Steps to make Sambhar:
  1. Take tuvar daal. wash and clean it
  2. Now add enough water and add turmeric powder and salt and cover the lid of pressure cooker. Let it cook for 10 mins. After that, check the daal, if it is needed then blend it finely.
  3. Now add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder and add some water and let it boil. Add finely chopped Tomatoes and peanuts. boil for atleast 10 mins.
  4. Now, for vaghar add oil in pan. Then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds,dry red chillies and curry leaves. Let them crackle and add to boiled daal. Add Coriander leaves and serve this sambhar with idli, dosa or uttapams. I served it with idli.
