The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
  1. Take 1/2 kg pumpkin
  2. Make ready 1 bowl arhar daal
  3. Make ready 1 tomato
  4. Take 1 onion
  5. Get 1 brinjal
  6. Take 100 g Tamarind pulp
  7. Take 1/2 spoon Mustard seeds
  8. Make ready 2 dry red chillies
  9. Make ready 1 spoon salt
  10. Get 1/2 spoon turmeric powder
  11. Make ready 1/2 spoon red chilli powder
  12. Make ready 1/2 spoon jeera
  13. Prepare 1 spoon sambhar masala
  14. Make ready 3-4 spoon oil
  15. Prepare 1 Cinnamon stick
  16. Prepare 2-3 curry leaves

Sambar is a dish in South Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil cuisines, made of toor dal and veggies, sambar masala. Instructions to make Sambhar:
  1. Take a pan and washed daal properly and add 7-8 bowl clear water in it for soaking. Let the imli for soaking in another pan.
  2. Pilled and cut Pumpkin, tomato and brinjal into small pieces. Wash it and add all the vegetables and daal in to a pressure cooker. Heat it up. After one whistle the flame placed on low. Cook it for 40 minutes at low flame.
  3. Take an another pan and add oil. Let it heat and add jeera, rai, dry red chilli, chopped onion, red chilli powder, salt, sambhar masala and fry for few minutes.
  4. Add tadka and sieve imli water in daal. Mix it well garnish with Curry leaves. Serve it with rice or idli or dosa.
