  7. Get 1 cup chana ( gram ) dal

  10. Make ready 2 drum sticks cut in pieces
  11. Prepare 3 tsp curry leaves
  12. Prepare 3-4 dry red chilli
  13. Take 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  14. Make ready as needed oil for frying
  15. Get 2 tsp Sambhar powder
  16. Prepare To taste Salt and red chilli powder
  17. Get 4 tsp lemon
  18. Get 1 tsp coriander powder
  19. Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder
  20. Make ready 2 tbsp oil for tadka
  21. Make ready 2-3 cloves
  22. Make ready 1 dry red chilli
  23. Get 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  24. Make ready 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  25. Make ready as needed Water
  26. Prepare 2 tbsp rice flour

Medu means soft & vada refers to round fritters. These are mostly made without onions, ginger. Medu Vadas are a traditional South Indian dish which can be served as a main course, side dish, or snack. If Medu Vada Batter is too thick: The Vada will shape nicely but they will be hard inside after frying.

Instructions to make SouthIndian Flavour Meduvada and Sambhar:
  1. Soak Urad dal and rice together in a bowl for 6to 8 hours.Crush it in a mixie jar.(Karkara).
  2. While crushing urad dal drain all the water from it.Then use only 1/4 cup of water to crush urad dal.Better must be tight.Add 2 tbsp rice flour in it and stir it well.
  3. Add salt to taste in it.Also add 1 tsp soda biocarb to it and stir it well.
  4. Take oil in a kadai and heat it…Now take water in one bowl. Wet your palm with it.take a little portion of better on the palm.Make hole between it with the help of finger and slowly slip down into the boil oil…and fry it..Fry all MeduVada like this.
  5. On the other side boil turdal and chana dal in the cooker.Take four cities and finely boil it.
  6. Take boiled dal in a tapeli,add 6-8 cup of water and crushed with handy mixie.Add cut drumsticks in it.Put it on the flame.
  7. Add salt to taste,then add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and lemon juice in sambhar. Stir it well.
  8. Let's make tadka. Take 2 tbsp oil in a small kadai and add mustard seed, methi dana to it. Add hing and whole red chilli, long to it.also add red chilli powder. Add this tadka in sambhar.
  9. Boil sambhar for 15 to 20 minutes. Again take 1 tbsp oil in a small kadai,add chopped onions and tomatoes and saute it, add into sambhar. Add sambhar powder. Boil it properly.
  10. Now your Medu vada and Sambhar is ready to serve.You can serve it with coconut chutney…

If batter is too soft: it will not be able to hold the shape and. Medu vada is one of my favorite snack. It is one snack I loved as a kid and still do.
