This is my Mom's recipe, it has a Hyderabadi touch! Dahi vada is a type of chaat (snack) originating from the Indian subcontinent and popular throughout South Asia. It is prepared by soaking vadas (fried flour balls) in thick dahi (yogurt). Dahi vada is also known as "dahi vade" (दही वडे) in Marathi, dahi vada (दही वड़ा) in Hindi, "dahi bhalla" in Punjabi.   1. Soak the urad daal overnight.

  5. Fry the balls in oil at medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Once done, keep them aside. After few minutes, drop them in a bowl of water. This will help vadas to become softer.
  7. Take curd in a bowl and whisk it, add salt and sugar to it.
  8. Squeeze the water out of vada's and mix them in curd.
  9. Server two of them at a time with green and sweet chutney and chat masala on top.
