The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
  1. Make ready 1/2 cup Pigeon peas split
  2. Get 1 Tomato
  3. Prepare 1 cup You maymix vegetables of your choice
  4. Make ready 2 tbsp Tamarind juice
  5. Get for tadka
  6. Take 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  7. Make ready 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. Make ready 6-7 Curry leaves
  9. Get to taste salt
  10. Take 1 Dry red chilli
  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp Hing/asafoetida
  12. Make ready 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  13. Get 2 tsp Sambhar masala
  14. Get 2 tbsp Oil

Sambar is a dish in South Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil cuisines, made of toor dal and veggies, sambar masala. Instructions to make Sambhar:
  1. Take a cooker, add dal and vegetables of your choice.
  2. Add 2 cup approx water, haldi powder, salt and stir it.
  3. Close the lid and put it on gas stove.
  4. Boil it for 7 to 8 mnts on medium flame.
  5. After 8 whistle, turn of the flame. Open it carefully.
  6. Mix it well.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water. And hand blender to make the sambhar smooth.
  8. For tadka, heat the pan, add oil, cumin seed, mustard seed, curry leaves and dry red chilli and hing.
  9. Add red chilli powder, sambhar masala mix it well.
  10. Put the tadka in dal.
  11. Mix it well, then add tamarind pulp. Add 1 cup water. Stir it well. Cover it for 10 mints.
  12. Sambhar is ready.
  13. Serve.
