  1. Wash and cook the rice till just done. Set aside to cool.
  2. Heat ghee/oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they start to crackle add chana dal, urad dal, peanuts, cashewnuts, sesame seeds and fry till golden. Add curry leaves, dry red chilli, green chilli, ginger, turmeic powder and hing. Fry till dry red chilli turns crisp.
  3. Now add the cooked and cooled rice with a bit of salt to the tempering. Mix it well.
  4. Into it add tamarind paste and jaggery mixed together. Stir properly so that the mixture of tamarind paste & jaggery is well mixed with the rice.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and top the rice with some sesame seeds.
  6. Thus ready is the sesame seeds gud-imli rice for being served.
