  2. Boil 4 mugs of water. You can add more water later if you think it isn't enough.
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the tofu, and two tablespoon of miso/soy bean paste, and let it simmer for a minute. Tofu cooks quite fast so don't let it boil too long or the tofu might lose its shape.
  4. Add salt and stir. You may add more miso/soybean paste as desired.
  5. Once the taste is to your liking, add the dried seaweed. Stir it well and let it simmer for a minute or less if you want the seaweed soft. But if you want the seaweed to be a bit crunchy, turn off the heat immediately after putting in the seaweed into the pot.
  6. Place to bowls and ready to serve!

In Japan, because we drink miso soup every day, we switch up the ingredients all the time. I recommend re-hydrating dried wakame in a separate bowl of water to get rid of saltiness, instead of re-hydrating.
