The ingredients needed to make Masala Idli:
- Prepare 1 cup rawa / semolina
- Make ready 1/2 cup curd
- Make ready 4 tbsp oil
- Make ready 2 tbsp coriander
- Prepare 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Get 1 tsp. Asofoetida
- Prepare 1 tbsp. desicated cocinut
- Take 1 tbsp. Fresh coconut
- Get 1 tsp fruit salt
- Get to taste Salt
- Prepare 2 tbsp. Red chilli powder
- Make ready 2 tbsp. Sambhar masala
- Take 1 Onion
- Take 3 pc. Tomatoes
- Get as needed Few curry leaves
- Get 1 tsp. Urad dal / black gram
- Get 1 tsp chana daal / bengal gram
- Make ready 2 chop green chilli
- Get 1 tsp. Dalia / broken wheat
- Prepare 1 dry red chilli
Because we are trying to eat a little healthier these days, I made these Masala Oats Idli for breakfast the other day. Masala idli is delicious recipe native to Southern part of India. The masala idli is made by giving little twist to your regular plain idli. So you can expect it to be even more delicious.
Instructions to make Masala Idli:
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, chop green chilli,dalia chopped fresh coconut,curry leaves make tadka, add rava and salt roast for 5 mins. Turn off flame let it cool.
- Now add curd and make batter like idli add fruit salt and 1 tbsp hot oil water mixture on fruit salt beat well with hand and pour in idli mould, sprinkle sambhar masala and steamfor 7-8,minutes.
- For masala:-chop onion and tomatoes. Now heat oil temperd mustard seeds, asofotida,chop green chilli,curry patta, urad dal,chana dal,add grated ginger salt onion,tomato, red chilli,turmeric saute add sambhar masala chopped coriander chopped tomatoes saute add 1 glass water cover and cook for 5-7 mins on mid flame
- Add desiccated coconut mix well. Now remove idli from mould and put in masala coat properly. And serve hot with coconut chutney.
- Tasty delicious Masala idli is ready to serve. Garnish with sesseme seeds and desicated coconut.
Masala idli recipe - QUICK and EASY recipe using leftover idlis. The tasty masala is made from onion, capsicum and tomatoes with flavor of pav bhaji masala. This masala is coated to the idli pieces. Some deep fry the idlis and then add to the masala but I prefer plain idlis tossed in masala. (Remember: Idli already has salt in it, so add whats necessary for the masala).
